The Gerber Index is a budget-friendly EDC knife that offers you a little pop of color. The steel is budget, the design seems solid so far, and over all – I’ve liked EDCing it. Check it out over at SMKW.com

  1. Cheap china junk…..stay away…the blade steel is nothing else than tempered lead….in short….stay away from Gerber…its not worth buying it.Anything under 8cr…… is rubbish!!

  2. I’ve owned 1 Gerber knife and a Gerber multi tool and both had catastrophic failures so I won’t buy another

    1. Yeah – they had a bad stretch for sure. I’ve found the last few years they have started to turn it around.

  3. At LAPG you can get a G-10 with S35VN for $35 and if you put a little knife oil on it it’s perfect. Not as heavy as the Gerber either. Just a thought!

  4. Preparedmind101 convinced me that frequent touch-up with ceramic and some stropping works really well if you don’t wait for it to get really dull😀
